External Philanthropy Chair @ Tufaan Entertainment

I’m currently a junior at Northwestern studying sociology and global health. I’ve been a member of Tufaan since I was a freshman, and this is my second year on board! I’m super excited to work more closely with Shanti Bhavan and build a strong connection between dancers, Tufaan staff, and the kids as this year’s external philanthropy chair. Aside from Tufaan, I’m also involved with the South Asian Student Alliance (SASA) on campus, as well as Project RISHI. I love being a part of Tufaan because I’m able to connect with such an amazing cause on a personal level and bring to light some impactful work being done towards education equity. My favorite part of Tufaan weekend has to be when the teams meet the kids (isn’t it everyone’s?) because of how the mission of Tufaan really manifests in the room, and teams get to see how they make such a large impact by competing at Tufaan. A fun fact is that I love to bake desserts and cook, especially anything that involves cinnamon!!
